Das 70.000 Tons Of Metal-Festival geht in der Regel Anfang Februar auf große Fahrt. Start und Ziel der Kreuzfahrt ist Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale in der Nähe von Miami und die Fahrt geht meist irgendwo in die Karibik oder nach Mittelamerika. Unterwegs gibt es reichlich Metal - Livebands aus aller Welt. Das "70000 tons of Metal" ist die "Mutter" aller Metalkreuzfahrten. Jede Band spielt zwei Konzerte bei diesem Festival - eins auf der Hin- und eins auf der Rückfahrt.

Insgesamt 60 Bands werden bei der 2017er Ausgabe des schwimmenden Metalfestivals spielen. Ziel in 2017 ist "Labadee" auf Haiti.
